Bio

I am a former special teacher and crisis intervention counselor. I have worked with children from preschool through high school with a variety of abilities and disabilities in school districts with a wide range of demographic conditions.

I served as Chair of the Education Department at a liberal arts college and worked as an educational consultant with schools and industry. I was Director of Special Education and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction in two very different school districts.

During my time at the Mount, I have been working closely with Bishop Dunn Memorial School to develop programs and support professional development initiatives.

As a member of the Policy Board of the Newburgh Teacher I was able to become a certified Poverty Simulation Trainer. I have implemented four Poverty Simulations at the Mount and am in the process of evaluating the long-term impact of having participated in the Simulation experience.

Among the joys of my job is being the advisor to the Sigma Tau Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the Education Honor Society on campus.
