Mount Saint Mary College graduate Kyle Villano ’22 will begin a full-time position at IBM in January of this coming year.
He was hired before he even finished his degree.
Villano obtained a B.S. in Cybersecurity and was involved in the Mount’s Honors Program during his time at the college. With the tools he gained at the Mount and some professional guidance from Sagar Raina, associate professor of Information Technology, and Denise McCarroll, instructor of Information Technology, Villano will confidently begin in System Verification Testing (SVT) at his new position with IBM.
“I am looking forward to the new adventures and challenges that I will be facing in this career,” said Villano.
Not only did the Mount help to foster the skills necessary for the job, Villano notes that doing a lot of work in the classroom using the Linux Command Line helped him understand how to navigate and complete required tasks. In addition, Villano received experience working with the company three times prior, completing Function Verification Testing (FVT) and lab work.
As he looks forward to his new job, Villano also reflected on his time at the Mount.
“I am going to miss my professors and faculty from the Math/IT division,” said Villano. “They all truly cared and would take the time to get to know us and ask how we are doing, both personally and academically.”
