Mount Saint Mary College’s School of Business has introduced a fully online option for both the standalone Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the 5-year undergraduate to MBA programs with majors in Business, Biology, Chemistry, English, and Mathematics.
The Mount’s online MBA program offers busy students another convenient option, in addition to the college’s robust in-person MBA track. Students who begin the Mount’s online MBA program in January 2023 will be able to complete all of their coursework online. Students participating in the Mount’s 5-year bachelor’s/fully online master’s program will be able to complete their undergraduate course work in-person and then have the option to complete the MBA portion online.
While the 5-year undergraduate to MBA program offers programs in eight undergraduate majors, the online MBA option will be available to those majoring within Business, Biology, Chemistry, English, and Mathematics within the program.
Dr. Cathy Rehfus-Wilsek, associate professor of Healthcare Management and Business Graduate Program Coordinator, is excited for the fully online component of the MBA program, which will offer an additional advantage to students: time management and organizational skills that they will enhance during their self-directed courses.
“An education at the Mount is a quality education,” she explained. “Whether in-person or online, students will have access to the same instructors, the same core material, and the same skill building. They will just have more flexibility with when they choose to learn the material. It’s a great choice for hard-working adults wanting to further their career but cannot meet at a set time for a 3-hour course.”
The Mount has also recently added several new concentrations and made some changes within the Division of Natural Sciences. Starting this fall, students enrolled in the Natural Sciences will now receive a degree in Bachelor of Science (BS) as opposed to a degree in Bachelor of Arts (BA), to better reflect the scientific nature of these programs.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to choose a concentration within the Biology major. The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) concentration will allow students to focus on the molecular side of the biology field; the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) concentration will provide a focus on the ecological and evolutionary side of biology; and the General Biology concentration will allow students to choose the courses that best fit their interests in the field of biology.
