Students visit Mount Saint Mary College’s recent club fair. The Mount offers many student-run clubs centered around academics, cultural awareness and advocacy, performance and activity, and community service.

Mount Saint Mary College showcased its variety of extracurricular activities for students at a club fair on Thursday, February 9.

The college offers clubs for students of any major or interest. Whether it’s art, community service, culture, or academics, Mount students can find a club to enhance their college experience outside of the classroom.

A new offering this semester is the Mount's Fashion Club. Nyla Pichardo of Newburgh, N.Y., a junior and club president, said that the club’s main goal is to, “give students an opportunity to be creative and make them feel confident in their own skin and clothing.”

Joining a club offered at the college also allows students to meet new people and gain meaningful experiences. Big Brothers Big Sisters, where students become mentors for children in the Newburgh community, is an outlet for this.

Grace O’Sullivan, a junior and president of the club, encourages students to, “become a Big Brother or Big Sister, and make a big difference.”
