Ian Farley, Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Mount Saint Mary College, began his “Relentless 27 Run” of 1,175 miles up the Eastern Seaboard on Monday, July 31, in support of the The HEADstrong Foundation.

Farley will be running for 27 consecutive days along the East Coast Greenway, starting in Mount Pleasant, S.C. and ending in New York City. Averaging 45 miles a day, he will wrap up the run by participating in the NYC Ice Cream Social Half Marathon on Saturday, August 26.

The HEADstrong Foundation is a Philadelphia-area based non-profit organization established to improve lives affected by cancer. Farley, an ambassador for Team HEADstrong, the foundation’s official endurance fundraising team, is an avid runner.

“I am very excited to be partnering with HEADstrong for the Relentless 27 Run,” Farley said. “HEADstrong has made a massive impact on many lives and it encouraged me to want to get involved. I wanted to do something physically and mentally challenging…while also helping as many lives as I can.”

A 2015 graduate of Sacred Heart University, Farley just wrapped up his first season at the helm of the men’s lacrosse program at the Mount after serving on the coaching staff at Division III Colby College during the 2021-22 academic year.

Located 60 miles north of New York City, the Mount is ranked a Top-Tier Regional University by U.S. News & World Report, and offers bachelor’s degree programs preparing students for careers in healthcare, business, education, social services, communication/media and more. Master’s degree programs include options in nursing, business, and education.
