Ashley Collazo, program coordinator for Mount Saint Mary College’s Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness, was recently appointed to the Safe Harbors of the Hudson Board of Directors.
Collazo, a former member of the Planning Committee for Downing Park, brings with her more than ten years of experience in the not-for-profit industry.
On the Safe Harbors board, Collazo will participate in the governance of the organization, work on committees and task forces, volunteer outside of board work, and serve as an ambassador to the community.
“I intend to lend my experience and skills to increase community engagement and diversify programming over the next three years of my term,” she said. “I am excited to get to work, and I am proud to serve alongside such dedicated and community-focused individuals. Onward!”
The Mount’s Desmond Center provides wellness and educational services for underserved individuals and families. It offers accessible and equitable educational, health, and wellness services for community members and families in the local area. All services are free of cost and open to the community.
The center will be moving into its new home on campus, the newly-renovated Guzman Hall, later this semester.
