The children of Bishop Dunn Memorial School recently spent an afternoon with Mount Saint Mary College students learning how fun science can be.
The students of Jodie Fahey, associate professor of Chemistry at the Mount, mentored children from kindergarten through fourth grade in small projects that examined the pH of various household liquids, asked children to form their own hypotheses, and more.
Bishop Dunn, on the Mount campus, was founded in 1883. The school is committed to the academic, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical development of children, pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
The college maintains a close relationship with Bishop Dunn. Mount Education students do fieldwork at the school, under the guidance of seasoned Bishop Dunn faculty. Many Mount grads go on to work at Bishop Dunn, including Principal Nancy Benfer ’04.
