Knowing the importance of internships, networking events, and career building opportunities, Mount Saint Mary College and JCPenney at the Galleria at Crystal Run helped ensure that more than 30 students could afford to look their best and leave positive impressions on potential employers.
The Mount’s Career Center held its first Suit-Up event on Tuesday, September 10, where Mount students received a generous discount on key wardrobe items such as jackets, suits, skirts, and belts.
“The staff at the Middletown JCPenney was terrific,” said Kathleen O’Keefe, director of the Mount’s Career Center. “The partnership with JCPenney gave our students the ability to purchase affordable and appropriate clothing for all of these activities and we couldn’t be more appreciative.”
Sharon Behrens, an assistant manager at JCPenney who helped to coordinate the event, echoed O’Keefe’s sentiments.
“It was a great night,” she said. “All of us at JCPenney really enjoyed working with the students and helping them build their wardrobes for their future endeavors.”
JCPenney also provided snacks and gift bags to all attendees, as well as a raffle with the potential to win a Sephora gift bag or a $50 gift card.
