During an action-packed three days, you'll meet the very best mentors, investors, cofounders, and sponsors to show you how to get more done faster – and maybe even start that business.
Participants will form teams on Friday, develop their businesses on Saturday, and give their final pitches on Sunday. Teams will also have the opportunity to attend several helpful workshops over the course of the weekend.
Techstars Startup Weekend Newburgh is being co-coordinated at the Mount by Micah Modell, assistant professor of Information Technology; Sagar Raina, assistant professor of Information Technology; Lee Fothergill, professor of Mathematics and chair of the Mathematics and Information Technology Division; A. Reza Hossain, professor of Economics and chair of the School of Business; Ellen Bourhis Nolan, director of the Mount's Career Center; and Robin Rosenberg, Mount career councilor.
"The event is an opportunity to meet enthusiastic peers and pursue working together to turn our ideas into real businesses," said Modell. "The full weekend event will include local business leaders as mentors to help shape our dreams into realistic possibilities."
One of those businesses is Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan, which is serving as the event's presenting sponsor. Domenic Baiocco, Vice President and Sales Team Leader/Commercial Lender, is pleased to aid the college in this endeavor.
"I am excited to be teaming up with Mount Saint Mary College and have an opportunity to speak with our up-and-coming entrepreneurs and future business leaders," he explained. "Wallkill Valley Federal proudly gets to serve the most vibrant and booming business community on a daily basis. This is the perfect partnership to bridge the gap between the successes we have had in the past, to what we know will be great things to come from the next generation."
Other sponsors include Get Right Results, Beer World, and Focused Wealth Management.
