Mount Saint Mary College graduate Jessica Romaniello ’22 of Waterbury, Conn. made her mark on the college’s theatre program one last time with a reading of her original play, Good Grief.
The performance, part of her independent study with James Phillips, associate professor of Theatre, featured Romaniello and four other Mount students. It would be the last time the avid actress and playwright took the stage as a Mount student – and an impressive way to end her college theatre career.
Another of Romaniello’s pieces, Hail Mary, was performed at the college in 2021 as part of Everything Will Be Alright. This anthology play featured six short stories about life during the pandemic, written by Mount alumni and one current student: Romaniello.
“Theatre has definitely added so much to my college experience,” she explained. “Getting to work so closely with professor Phillips has given me some great opportunities to hone my skills and have fun at college…Not only have my collaboration and adaptability skills improved, so has my writing.”
