This event has been postponed until the fall semester.
Christine Berté, dean of the School of Nursing at Mount Saint Mary College, will conclude this semester’s Investigating Research on Campus (iROC) series with “Telemedicine: Are We Healthy Enough to Survive It?” on Thursday, April 21 at 4 p.m.
The talk will take place in person and virtually via Zoom at the college. It’s free and open to the public.
The talk will be held on campus a 330 Powell Ave., Newburgh, N.Y. in the Dominican Center, room 218. Please do not come to campus if you are feeling ill.
Telemedicine has been used in healthcare for a long time now, but with the advent of the pandemic, it has become rather predominant. This presentation will provide perspectives from both healthcare providers and patients that use this provision of healthcare.
“As recipients of healthcare, there are pros and cons to this, but are we aware of how we should interact during these visits to garner the most from our healthcare provider?” asks Berté.
Berté has decades of experience in academia. Along with teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels in Nursing education for more than 30 years, she also actively practiced in adolescent medicine for more than 25 years.
The goal of the college’s iROC is to provide a forum for Mount faculty, staff, and students to showcase their research endeavors with the college and local communities. Presentations include research proposals, initial data collection, and completed research projects.
Mount Saint Mary College, ranked a Top-Tier University by U.S. News & World Report, offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs for careers in healthcare, business, education, social services, communications, media, and the liberal arts.
