Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management
Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management
The healthcare industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the US economy, emphasizing a growing need for business professionals to lead these organizations. Like any other business, the healthcare industry has financial, promotional, legal, and operational needs, but their unique structure and regulations require leaders with an understanding of both general business practices and the industry. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management can give you the training you need in both sectors to make a difference in healthcare.

What to expect as an MBA Healthcare student at the Mount
37-55 credits
Learn about MBA Healthcare academic requirements and courses here.
The number of credits you will have to take as an MBA student will depend on your undergraduate major as well as work experience. Prior to beginning the program, you will meet with our graduate Business advisor or program coordinator to discuss your personal path to degree completion.
Our graduate courses run on 8-week sessions instead of 15-week semesters, with six session start dates per academic year. We typically recommend that students take two courses per session, but you can take one course instead if that better fits your schedule. The majority of our students (70%) complete the MBA program within three years, but the time it will take for you to complete the program may be more or less depending on your prerequisite requirements and how many credits you wish to take each year. Some students are even able to complete the program in just over a year, so your course schedule will be adjusted based on your unique experiences and goals.
In addition to our traditional MBA courses, you will also take several courses specific to the operational management of healthcare facilities, such as Healthcare Industry Analysis, Issues and Trends in Ambulatory and Acute Care, Financial Management in the Healthcare Sector, and Public Policy and Healthcare.
Due to the nature of healthcare, this program revolves around giving back and seeks to prepare you for the life of service you’ll lead following graduation with plenty of service experiences integrated into the curriculum.
Be prepared for your future
With an MBA Healthcare degree, you’ll be prepared to take on leadership and managerial positions in the healthcare sector. Overseeing finances, marketing, operations, and more, your training will give you the flexibility you need to be successful in a number of aspects of this field.
