Since the RN to BS program is offered online, the schedule is very flexible. The program can be completed in as early as one year, though most students take 18 months to complete.
To earn a bachelor’s degree, you will have to complete 120 credits total, so the number of credits you will have to earn to complete your degree will depend on how many credits you transfer to the Mount. RN to BS students can transfer up to 77 credits from a two-year institution. The Registrar’s Office and Nursing Advisor can help you determine credits you can transfer in from other programs, including from our articulation agreements with local community colleges.
Your classes will also include a few hours of clinical work each. However, we know that as a registered nurse, you are already well practiced in the clinical field, so the practice hours required by New York State for this program are specially designed with RNs in mind, focusing on building leadership skills and implementing healthcare policy.
As an RN to BS student, you’ll enjoy the same support services offered to our traditional students.
